summer family fun

Summer is by far my favorite season! I love the sun, water, and laid back family fun. It is also the season that my entire family is here – we have my stepdaughter over the summer, the college kids are home, my mom and siblings always come down for a couple weeks. It is just the season that memories are made of!

To kick off the summer weathers we had our first family picnic of the year. Of course it rained all week, but a little rain wasn’t stopping us! As Livia sung to me, “it’s raining, it’s pouring- we are playing though it’s storming!”

Stouffer’s Skillets

Needing some quick, easy, healthy meal ideas we headed to Walmart to check out their Stouffer’s Skillet Meals, fruit, and Edy’s Ice-cream

easy family meals

I love using Stouffer’s skillet meals on Family nights because they are completely low maintenance and everyone loves them! The are so easy to make that I let the kids cook them which just adds to the family fun! Plus they are only 330 calories per serving so I don’t have to feel guilty about eating pasta! In the time that I saved on meal prep and clean up we were able to enjoy a board game and make our summer bucket list!

We even got lucky and the sun came out for long enough for a water balloon fight and popsicles! We tried the Outshine Strawberry Rhubarb and Wonka Banana Peel Pops. Both were big hits with the kids and I loved the Strawberry Rhubarb Fruit and Veggie Bar. Strawberry Rhubarb is for summer what Apple pie is to fall for me. It was perfect!
